Jan became aware of the Bob Ross technique whilst recovering from serious illness.

She was immediately attracted by 'The Joy of Painting' principles and the tried and tested method of achieving good results for students of all abilities.

With the support of family and friends she trained in the UK to become a Bob Ross Instructor and is certified to teach landscapes, seascapes and floral studies

She set up Just Paint! Bob Ross workshops in 2003. The aims of her business reflect 2 central principles:

to make art accessible to the broadest range of people
to provide shared learning experiences which are fun and which enhance individual well-being

Jan has a life-long interest in arts and crafts and works in mixed media. Her established favourites are watercolours and charcoal – and now oils!

In professional life, Jan's career spans 25 years in social care working with children and adults. She has considerable experience of working with individuals and groups from different backgrounds.
